The mission of the Women's Health in Context Collaborative (WHiCC) is to engage in cutting-edge interdisciplinary feminist research focusing on all aspects of health equity and well-being for women, girls, and gender minorities.
The Collaborative’s research is designed to improve health equity for women and gender-expansive people in Columbia, in South Carolina, and in the Southeast more broadly.
Housed in the department of Women’s and Gender Studies and informed by feminist approaches, the Collaborative fosters student-faculty collaborations, providing University of South Carolina students with theoretical and methodological training, hands-on research, academic networking opportunities, and publication experience.
